The owners of The Room (both the one in Hollywood and the one in Santa Monica) take their back-alley, bass-heavy blueprint for lounging to Main Street.
Bar Copa has a lot in common with its sister bars. There is no sign, nor have there been any advertisements. The no-cover/no-dress-code policy sets a laid-back and versatile vibe; the low-lit, cave-like interior is decorated in shades of blood red, rustic wood and brick. Each night, the contemporary couches and tables in back get pushed to the side when the DJs unleash rug-cutting hip-hop, soul and rare groove classics. All of which makes Bar Copa a word-of-mouth place that appeals more to the Westside's cultured and creative types rather than the bleached-out beach bums.
