This '40s-era lunchspot and bar keeps old Hollywood alive.
This bar offers one of the coolest side rooms in town: a converted Airstream trailer decorated in the style of old Hollywood. Once owned by Bette Davis, the Hollywood Canteen brings back the nostalgia of old Hollywood with a dash of 1940s opulence. Yet it seems to be overlooked as a fun place to bring out-of-towners for a dose of bona fide Hollywood glamour. By day, the counter, handful of booths and and tightly-packed tables bustle with below-the-line Industry folks who work in the "flats," or the soundstages and editing bays that surround the restaurant. By night, DJs often set up turntables in the patio for a younger, more animated clientele.
