Not even the bar's nailed down at this sultry, sensual club. Salsa lovers looking to spice up their Tuesdays practice their moves with an instructor before Sono-Lux, the Latin-fusion house band, heats things up with hip-shaking rhythms. Most Thursdays, audience members nestled into cozy red couches whisper "ooh la la" during cabaret shows like "L’effleur des Sens," a kinky French cabaret created by Parisian native Cati Jean. On Saturdays, DJ Kemal and his cohorts from Balance spin deep house music for the post-glowstick crowd until 4 am. And in what seems to be turning into an annual tradition, Southern sluts and leather-clad rebels raise hell throughout the theater in "Taking the Jesus Pill," a sacrilegious gothic-rock opera featuring both blues and burlesque. Don't be fooled by the rear entrance and dim lighting; King King's friendly and accommodating staff made us forget we were in Hollywood.
