Recently voted the #1 restaurant in West Hollywood, Pearl is earning it's reputation . . . from the freshest seafaood and its award winning menu, to the precious amount of state of the art A/V equipment strung throughout its Ultra Lounge, Pearl is LA's premier nightspot. The most apt metaphor for Pearl may be the venue's overall promise as an upscale experience, luring patrons to penetrate its shell and discover an elegant and seductive jewel inside . . .
While guiding the action on the floor and onstage, the booth also serves as the control hub for a 24-track recording studio. With 100 speakers throughout the venue, six plasma screens, a $45,000 Sony digital projector and a 250 inch big screen that descends from the ceiling on the main stage . . . the club is capable of capturing live performances as well as hosting movie premieres and other multimedia functions. Additionally, a half-dozen screens cross-pollinate the action in Pearl; giving restaurant patrons a glimpse of the main stage while two screens in the club might feature a live cabaret show taking place in the VIP room.
The brainchild of Portland entrepreneur Steve Marlton and his joint venture partners Pat Marlton, Clark and Rob Goodman, and Bill Houston, the newly renovated, 7,500 square foot venue on Robertson Boulevard, looks to import masterful innovations from Marlton's former Northwest ventures, focused on an enhanced club experience. Among them are translucent "shadowboxes" in which erotic dancers will writhe onstage accompanied by resident DJ, Madd One, when the platform is not being utilized by a live band.
