With a rep for being raw and salacious, the Strip's latest haunt is a definite must-do for anyone looking to make the scene. In the beginning, it had the feel of a gothic palace with black walls, bondage art, and waitresses in torn black leather outfits and feathery fauxhawks. But, much like we did in ninth grade, Shelter got over the goth look. It was then transformed into a Nordic lodge with working fireplaces, fur-covered furniture and waitresses in outfits showing off their bunny slopes. Then, it became a St. Tropez discotheque with white walls, vinyl furniture, spacious patios and waitresses in spring's de rigueur white. Now, it's a "construction zone" decked out with steel beams, wooden planks, coolers and graffiti on the walls. The cocktail waitresses even fit the part, dressed in hard hats, work boots and daisy dukes. While people shake it on the dance floor in the main room, the real action happens in the downstairs lounge, where people aren’t afraid to let loose and indulge in a little debauchery. |
